Travel Agent

Choose one of the countries the folktales are from. Research important travel facts about this country such as climate, history, famous places to visit, currency, hotels, etc. Present the information to the class in the form of a website, brochure, or video.

Extra Reading

Choose a country where one of the folktales originated. Read three other tales from that country and compare and contrast the tale to the folktale in Yolen's book.

Interview

Write a list of interview questions for Jane Yolen, the author. Have one person play the journalist and the other Yolen. Students might ask why she chose the tales she did, what her educational background is etc. Have the students present their interview to the class.

Photo Collage

Create photo collages of events in one folktale. The collages should be presented to the class.
