Daily Lessons

This section contains 30 daily lessons. Each one has a specific objective and offers at least three (often more) ways to teach that objective. Objective: This first chapter of the novel is rich with imagery and descriptive language. The objective of this lesson is to examine how the imagery used in this chapter helps paint a picture of the scene.

1) 1) Review the literary device imagery with class (if necessary).
2) Divide students into small groups. Have them go on a "scavenger hunt" in the first chapter for vivid imagery....
