Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

Ibn Fadlan - He is the narrator and author of the tale.

Herger - He is one of Buliwyf's warriors. He is the only one able to easily communicate with Ibn Fadlan because he knows some basic Latin.

Buliwyf - He is probably considered the hero of the story.

Rothgar - He is the aging king of Venden.

The Wendol - They are the terrible creatures which plague Rothgar's kingdom.

Wulfgar - He is one of Rothgar's sons. He is sent by Rothgar to fetch Buliwyf to battle the wendol.
