Objective

Divergent is a dystopian science fiction novel by Veronica Roth. Set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic Chicago, the novel is told from the first-person perspective of its protagonist, Beatrice Prior. In the Divergent Universe, there are five factions that comprise greater society. The factions are Abnegation, Amity, Erudite, Candor, and Dauntless. The focus of this lesson is on analyzing the novel’s setting and narrative style and discussing the structure of the faction society in Divergent.
