Objective: In this section, the girls on the Pretty Committee have just been expelled from their middle school, yet they are allowed to hang out at the mall together. Since being expelled usually is seen as a huge punishment for very bad behavior, it seems that the girls are "getting away with it." This lesson deals with the idea of getting away with something.

Lesson

1. Class debate: Do you think that the girls are getting away with their behavior? Are they being punished enough? Divide the class into two groups, with one group presenting the view that expulsion is punishment enough, and the other group saying that the girls are just getting away with it.
