Objective

Devil in a Blue Dress is a hardboiled mystery novel by American author Walter Mosley. Published in 1990, it was Mosley’s first novel and the first of a series that features protagonist Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins. The novel explores themes of alienation, war, the American Dream, racism and prejudice, identity, and corruption. In this lesson, students will research author Walter Mosley and will define, identify, and analyze the narrative point of view and the setting of the novel.
