Nature Personified

Jack gave personalities and characteristics to the mountains while he was a fire look-out. Have the students come up with personalities and characteristics for some of the natural landmarks around them.

Buddha

Jack is a Buddhist and has found much peace in his life through this religion. Have a short lesson with an overview of Buddhism, including pictures and doctrines. Have the students write their personal response to this different idealism.

Meditation

Teach the class how to meditate like Jack does, and have some meditation time in class. Afterward, discuss with the class how this activity made them feel.

Poetry Reading

Jack and his friends enjoy holding and attending poetry readings. Hold a poetry reading after school and allow the students to read their favorite poems by other authors, or some of their own work.
