Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn - As a main character, this traditionalist values the Navajo way of life and works for the Navajo tribal police.

Ernesto Cata - This character is a twelve-year-old Zuni chosen to portray the Little Fire God at the annual Shalako festival.
