Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Dwight D. Eisenhower - This person is the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces (SCAEF).
Erwin Rommel - This person is the commander of the German Army Group B, charged with repelling the anticipated Allied invasion.
Omar Bradley - This Allied commander is named to head the 250,000-man U.S. 1st Army.
Adolf Hitler - This person is a proponent of "divide and rule."
Lt. Arthur Jahnke - This German commander is wounded by shrapnel from an incoming German shell.
George Marshall - This person is President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Chief of Staff.
