Fun Classroom Activities
The 20 enjoyable, interactive classroom activities that are included will help your students understand the text in amusing ways. Fun Classroom Activities include group projects, games, critical thinking activities, brainstorming sessions, writing poems, drawing or sketching, and more that will allow your students to interact with each other, be creative, and ultimately grasp key concepts from the text by "doing" rather than simply studying.
1. Imagining the Future
Imagine any character at present day. Write a retrospective in the first person detailing their major life accomplishments, how they dealt with milestones such as the Civil Rights Movement, and how they feel about the events they encountered in the book.

Write and perform a one-act play based upon one of the stories in the book. Be sure to pay special attention to dialogue and interaction between characters.
