Objective

Chapter 1, The Three Adventurers

This book is biographical. The objective of this lesson will be to review major aspects of Caddie Woodlawn' life and to discuss why her granddaughter decided to write and publish this book in the manner she did.

Lesson

1) Provide a brief overview of Caddie Woodlawn's life along with some of the major events in her life. Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the major events from her historical life. Instruct each group to study its event and write about how this event would have shaped her life and affected her personality. Allow each group to present its information. Discuss some of the different ideas that are presented.
