Lesson

1. Class Discussion: A descriptive device is an author's way of painting a picture in our mind's eye to develop a scene in the story. How does the author do that as the story opens? What descriptive device does he use to describe the couple? Give an example of the author's use of narrative descriptive devices to paint a picture in our mind's eye of the newly married couple on their way to their home.
