Characters

Blood - This highly intelligent, telepathic dog helps the main character find food and female companionship.

Quilla June Holmes - This young girl was sent to the surface to lure the narrator back to Topeka where the "downunders" live.

Lew - This character runs the committee in Topeka.

Vic - The narrator of this story, this young teenager learns a lot from his dog.
