Draw a scene that you could really picture while you were reading. Write a description to go with the scene.
Find the Book
Go to the library and find related books or articles about prostitution, money separating people, relationships with a large age difference, sadness "surging" out of the story. Prepare a short presentation about how both books are connected.
Assign the role of prostitutes, Christian Coalition, police, and members of the community to groups of students. Have a Peace Day on which members of the class assume the role of their assigned characters and try to get along with one another despite their differences in beliefs.
