Clear the center of the room and have four students blindfolded. Then, introduce items into the center and ask the blindfolded students to perform a rudimentary task as a group (make sandwiches with assembled materials, find your backpacks among a pile of the entire class's) while the rest of the class observes. After the task is accomplished, clear the space and blindfold another four students for a new task.
Frontline Real World Crisis
Watch all or part of the Frontline documentary Cheney's Law (available at www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/view). Be sure the students see both sides of the debate over the former vice president. Some argue he used the attacks as an excuse to consolidate executive power and silence dissenting views.
