Lesson 1 (from Book One: Ethan)

Objective

Beautiful Redemption is the fourth and final book of The Caster Chronicles, a series of young adult fantasy novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The novel is divided into three parts, named for the character that narrates each section. Part One is titled "Ethan" and is presented from Ethan's point of view in the Otherworld. This lesson covers the Prologue, Chapter 1: “Home,” and Chapter 2: “Fried Green Tomatoes.” In the lesson, students will identify, analyze, and discuss the novel’s setting, narrative style, and the characters of Ethan and Lila Wate.
