Objective

The objective of this lesson is to learn about narrative mode, the different types of narrative mode and in which type specifically this book is written in.

Lesson

1) Have the students break into small groups and review the introduction and Part One, Section 1. Ask them to focus on how the author is speaking to the reader. How is the author addressing the reader or presenting informationr? Give them a few minutes to review and discuss.

2) Bring the class together for a class discussion. Review the idea of narrative mode, the way an author conveys the story to the audience. There are 4 narrative modes you will touch on: first person, where the author is speaking through the main character or characters and uses "I" or "We;" second person, where the author refers to the one of the characters or the reader as "you"; third person, where the...
