• In Berlin, Germany, Sonja Verbrugge receives an alarming message from her husband, Franz, telling her to flee the house and go to the Artesemia Hotel; but at a street corner, she is pushed into the street and a passing ambulance stops for her. She is strapped onto a gurney and a hypodermic needle slides into her arm.

• In Paris, France, Mark Harris waits on the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower, his mind on Prima when the men arrive. Mark asks them if the meeting in Washington is all set, and one of the men clubs him over the head with a blunt object.

• Over Denver, Colorado, Gary Reynolds pilots his Cessna Citation II towards a landing at Denver International Airport. He plans to hide out at his sister's house until he can eliminate Prima, but when he receives clearance to land a hurricane...
