little girl has on a shy 60-year old man and how the author's writing style aids in getting this point across.

Would the students in the class have been as charmed by Anne as Matthew was? If not, why? Have any of the students ever given

unusual or romantic names to places as Anne does when she calls Barry's pond "The Lake of Shining Waters"? Are the students

able to feel the wonder...
