1) Possible Activities:
* Have the students go to the library and work in pairs to research what a lector is and Cuban culture to have better background knowledge to help them understand the play.
* Have the students research the author Tolstoy and his book Anna Karenina to better be able to relate to the happenings in this play.
* Have the students work in groups of 3-4 to research a topic of their choice in regards to the novel referenced, Cuban cigar making procedures, Cigar factories or the role of the lector.

Homework

Have the students describe a list of sources from which accurate information can be obtained to complete research activities.

Challenge

Have the students prepare a complete research paper on the how Cuban cigars are made including a bibliography.
