The Crusades

This series of religious wars was fought between European Christians and Middle-Eastern Muslims. Europeans plundered a great deal of wealth from the Middle East during these conflicts. As a result, European society became more interested in private property and wealth accumulation.

Pre-colonial Americas

These lands were originally occupied by indigenous peoples who build complex societies. Later, European colonialists robbed the native inhabitants of their lands and characterized the inhabitants as primitive savages.
