· She is concerned about all the patrols on the street, and he tells her he has lots of practice avoiding the soldiers.

· Laia and Darin live with their grandparents, Pop and Nan, who run a healing business.

· Laia wonders if Darin is working for the Martials and the Empire, even though the Empire killed their parents.

· Darin tells her he will explain, but then he realizes a raid is imminent.

· He throws her his sketchbook and asks her to hide it.

· She throws it out the window...
