A Simple Plan is a suspense novel by author Scott B. Smith published in 1993. Scott Bechtel Smith (born 1965) is an American author and screenwriter who also adapted the screenplay for A Simple Plan (1998), which was nominated for numerous awards, including two Academy Awards. In this lesson, students are introduced to the novel, its author, and film adaptation.

Lesson

1) Teacher Lecture: Introduce the class to the book and author. A Simple Plan by Scott B. Smith, published in 1993, is a psychological suspense novel exploring themes of greed, blame and the nature of good and evil.
