Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. Objects

School of War - At this place, Wang Yuan hears about what the evil foreigners have done to his country, but also that Yuan's father is an enemy.

Earthen House - Yuan escapes from this place after leaving his father's house.

The Coastal City - In this place, people from many different cultures and backgrounds are brought together.

Lady Mother's Home in the Coastal City - At this location, Yuan is treated kindly and learns to dress in the modern fashion.

Pleasure Houses - Local young people go to this establishment to dance.
