Helen Lamb

This character is a ghost who has been dead for over 100 years. She is a woman in her late 20s who has an intense fondness for literature. She doesn't remember very much about her past, before she died. She is drawn to writers, and she whispers suggestions to help them with their writing even though she knows that they don't hear her. She feels as if she is a threat to children, and she doesn't want to be around them. This character is timid and cautious, but she is also curious and willing to try things after she has thought them through. This is demonstrated by the way she runs away from James when she first meets him and in the way she stalls when considering taking over a body.
