Samuel L. Leonard, a trailblazing researcher in the science of animal reproduction who imparted his zoological knowledge to thousands of students as a professor at Cornell University, died Nov. 11 in Ithaca, N.Y. Family members said that after reporting stomach pains, he entered Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca and died there 15 days short of his 102nd birthday.
