Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara satisfied the requirements of his position in splendid fashion during last night's thrilling 3-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens at TD Banknorth Garden.
The Bruins captain finished his hits, protected the goalie and disrupted Canadiens power plays with a sweeping forecheck, especially in the second and third periods with the outcome uncertain. And despite his dedication to defending the home end, Chara emerged as the game's offensive force.
