The curriculum covers everything from conflict resolution to nutrition, goal setting to African history.

It is known as The Simba Circle (Simba means young lion in Swahili), a two-week summer camp at Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point, Iowa, that prepares 100 young African-Americans for manhood. The camp is sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's Division for Church in Society.
