One fall day in 1969, a freshman ventured for the first time to the campus address of 306 N. Brooks St., the busy location of the humble University Y, there to meet a redoubtable fellow named Larry, who gave the freshman a seat in a corner of the basement.
"Here," said Larry.
"Here is your staple gun. Here is a pile of posters. Go forth to the Lakeshore dormitories and spread the word. Welcome to the theater."
