In Moonstone, a small Colorado town, around the year 1890, young Dr. Howard Archie pulls eleven-year-old Thea Kronborg through a dangerous attack of pneumonia. They become fast friends. Thea, the forthright blonde daughter of an unimpressive minister of Swedish descent, is encouraged to study music by her wise and capable mother.
