Workers unearth bones at farm site.

About 1 pages (410 words)

Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, IL), April 29th, 2003

Byline: Sara Burnett Daily Herald Staff Writer

Human remains discovered near a historic Sleepy Hollow home Monday may be traced to the original landowners or be part of a former American Indian burial ground, a local historian said.

The remains were discovered around 9:30 a.m. as excavation crews began digging for a new garage at the former Campbell farm, located at 14N970 N. Sleepy Hollow Road near Boncosky Road.

The backhoe operator told Kane County authorities he halted work after noticing a bone sticking out of a pile of dirt, said Kane County sheriff's police Sgt. David Wagner.
