A TEXTBOOK exercise in classic Hollywood scriptwriting structure, as purveyed by Robert McKee, Bonnie Hunt's writing/directing debut is a thoroughly attractive stab at a much-abused genre - the romantic comedy.
First the pitch. Figure (a): beautiful girl with terminal heart condition awaits suitable transplant donor. Figure (b): happily married young couple have car crash.
Wife dies. Heart transplanted from (b) to (a) successfully. One year later, bereft guy from (b) falls for newhearted girl from (a).
Complications ensue.
