With the Jewish community in a continuity crisis and thousands of poor, not to mention middle class, Jews unable to afford to send their children to Jewish day school, it's something to note that the major Jewish defense agencies lined up against the great Wisconsin school-voucher experiment. The Wisconsin program, which affects about 15,000 of the poorest inner-city pupils without regard to their religion or race, permits their families to use vouchers of up to $5,000 to attend private schools, including religious schools.
