NORFOLK -- NORFOLK - William Rainey, 90, of the 6900 block of E. Tanners Creek Drive, passed away Jan. 23, 2007, at Sentara Leigh Hospital. William was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Coffeeville, Ala., and attended Alabama State Teachers College for two years. He retired from Dept. of Defense, U.S. Navy after 23 years of service and also from the City of Norfolk, Kirn Memorial Library after 20 years of service where he worked on the maintenance staff.
