Former Gov. Buddy Roemer and a group of concerned Louisiana citizens have chimed in on efforts to improve rural health care in Louisiana and to attract country doctors to practice in underserved areas. In a letter to business leaders, Roemer said a new citizens group is working with Mercer Unity of Macon, Ga., as a model to improve access to primary care medicine in rural areas and small towns.
