Perhaps the most impressive late-season run by a Montgomery County boys' basketball team not named Blake or Bethesda-Chevy Chase belonged to Walter Johnson. The Wildcats, who went 8-14 during the regular season, beat Quince Orchard on the road, 51-37, in the first round of the Maryland 4A West Region playoffs, then went to Damascus and knocked off the third- seeded Swarmin' Hornets, 61-57.
