As this issue went to press, the eyes of the paint industry were on Rhode Island. This tiny state is home to one of the biggest cases in the paint and coatings industry--the so called "lead paint as a public nuisance" lawsuit filed by Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse.
Not only is our industry watching and waiting, so too are other cities across the U.S. In fact, Chicago has already filed a similar lawsuit--just one day after the Rhode Island trial began. (See Fresh Paint, page 10 in this issue for more details).
