IT WAS a start. England's players had to begin hauling themselves off the floor yesterday, and they did so. Nothing fancy, nothing flash, just disciplined cricket which they played at a lively tempo and most of them enjoyed, having arrived in Perth more crushed and crestfallen than any England team I have seen in 30 years.
