PASADENA, Calif. - Both Neptune and its puzzling moon Triton have auroras, the patches of glowing gas known on Earth as northern and southern lights, swirling through their atmospheres, Voyager scientists reported yesterday. The discovery was the latest to come from the final encounter of the Voyager 2 spacecraft's 12-year journey of exploration through the outer solar system. Voyager swooped past Neptune Thursday night and will continue to monitor the planet and its rings and moons for the next five weeks as it races off into interstellar space at 37,609 mph.
