At 11 a.m. every Saturday, folks young and old gather on the steps of the Lancaster County Courthouse. They stand in silence clutching signs: War Creates More Terrorism, Make Friends not foes and Stop the killing. Among the 15 or so who participated Saturday was Charles Lane, 71, of Lancaster Township. As a Quaker and member of Lancaster Friends, Lane believes in pacifism.
