Author Ernest Hemingway's short story 'The Killers' promotes an appropriate form of vaudeville philosophy. Hemingway borrowed liberally from vaudeville lore to promote his central themes and realities. He had a firsthand acquaintance with vaudeville and knew that it had permeated the social world and was recognized by intellectuals.
