Times were good in the Steel Valley during the 1960s. Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties made up one of the top steel-producing regions in the country. Jobs were plentiful at the mills in Youngstown, Warren and Struthers.
"When I was a kid, there was no worry about getting a job," recalls Ralph Zerbonia, 49, a Youngstown native and general manager of cboss Internet in Boardman. "If you did nothing else, you worked at the mills."
