A "celebration of life" service will be held today for Jim Valerius, a civic leader and entrepreneur who died last week. He was 52.

"He tried to practice his faith by giving back to the community," said Linda Schowalter, his sister-in-law.

Valerius, who retired from Ameritech after a 25-year sales career, founded Valerius Communications, a telecommunications consulting company in West Bend.
