Resort of the week As with any massive ski resort, approaching Vail, Colo., requires a bit of planning. For starters, on which end of town do you want to leave your transportation and head for the lifts? At the west side of town is Cascade Village, opening via a slow lift to some of the older trails on the mountain - a group of major cruising trails tied together with an African theme: Simba, Bwana, Born Free.
