TV equipment makers say that violence blocker technology does not pose insurmountable obstacles, but problems do exist. This technology would be available in the form of a computer chip with an internal clock. The addition of a memory device to compensate for power loss would raise the chip's cost and would add to the size and complexity of remote controls. In the final analysis the viability of V blocker technology is contingent on the willingness of cable companies or networks to post violence ratings.
