A.R. Gurney's play entitled 'A Cheever Evening,' is currently being staged at Playwrights Horizons in New York, NY. The play depicts the life of the late novelist and short story writer John Cheever, who died in 1982. Don Scardino directs the play which will run until Nov. 6, 1994. 'A Cheever Evening' presents Cheever's unexamined life, which was filled with depression and pessimism.
