It was a dark and stormy night. Captain LearnCurve was reading the newspaper. Suddenly, a classified ad rang out. Lost: One parrot. Hmmm, that would make a good topic for this month's column. A lost parrot? Polygon. Ouch.

Let's begin by defining a polygon as a lumpy circle. If you are going to get nasty about it, here's a formal definition.
