Amir Pinnix recently spent some time with his former college roommate, and the two broke from tradition and actually talked football.
In town for a private workout for NFL personnel, former Gophers running back Laurence Maroney gave Pinnix a pep talk as he approached spring practice as the team's No. 1 running back.
"He just told me that this is your time to shine and to go ahead and do my thing," Pinnix recalled. "He said to have fun and show what I can do."
