"Meet the Parents" went to the head of the table in a lackluster October, delivering Universal its first No. 1 spot in the month over the past decade.
Overall B.O. was $430 million, down 15% from October 1999's record of $505.3 million.
"Parents" hit $100 million on less than 3,000 engagements, and did it in 24 days. Rounding out the top five, "Remember the Titans" scored $67 million in second place, followed by Fox's "Bedazzled" ($24 million), Warner Bros. re-release of "The Exorcist" ($19.5 million), and WB's "Pay It Forward" ($19 million).
