Whenever the evening's outcome wavered in doubt, redshirt freshman center Ashley Ellis-Milan hoisted the Gophers women's basketball team upon her broad shoulders and surgically repaired knee Thursday at Williams Arena.
Her 20 points and 13 rebounds - both career bests in an admittedly young career - as well as an impeccable sense of timing delivered, along with some help from her friends, a careening 74-59 victory over a Vermont program where the Gophers' Pam Borton learned her coaching chops.
